Turn your candy into money at city dentist

MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s no trick, a local dental office has a treat for you if after trick or treating you think your candy haul from Halloween is a little too much.

On Nov. 1 and 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Medicine Hat Dental is hosting its inaugural Candy Buy Back, where Dr. Mason Zemp will buy your Halloween candy for $1 per pound. You don’t need to be a patient of Medicine Hat Dental to sell your candy there, and the positives will extend beyond just money in your pocket.

Participating students can enter to win a movie party for their entire classroom, and Medicine Hat Dental will send the candy to members of the Canadian Armed Forces in their Christmas packages.

He says the buyback is a great way to split your treats between candy and money.

“Everyone loves candy, we love candy, and honestly we just want to give you another alternative,” he says. “We want you to be able to have a little bit of money. Maybe you’ve been saving up for something awesome that you want to buy, maybe a toy, maybe a trip and we want to give you an opportunity to put that candy to work for you.”
