MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Hat High Hawks came out victorious over the Crescent Heights Vikings in the Rangeland conference championship game.

It was a windy Friday night matchup that saw the Hawks take the 21-0 victory.

The game was piloted by the offense of Hawks quarterback Kaiden Buckler who had two touchdown runs. Also running back Clark Campbell who played both ways, and had a rushing touchdown of his own.

Hawks Head Coach Quinn Skelton says “I’m just proud and happy for our five senior players to finish up with a Rangeland championship, and being part of eight in a row. They played well, and have been awesome for our club during their careers at Hat High.”

He also mentioned that both teams played a very tough and physical game, which was relayed by Vikings Head Coach Scott Wendell.

“The game was very physical, and really captured the quality of football in Medicine Hat” he says. “The Final score obviously didn’t go the way we wanted to. We had a challenging first half with a couple early fumbles, but the players really stuck together and continued to play hard for the full forty-eight minutes.”

Wendell also gave his congratulations to the Hawks, and their coaches for such a strong season.

This win marks eight straight RFC championships for the Hawks, and twenty-one total since 1980.

Hat high will now travel to Lethbridge Nov. 4 for the south tier two zone championship game, against Chinook High School.
