3rd annual ski-swap kicked off Saturday at the Southridge YMCA

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Canadian Ski Patrol is holding their third annual ski-swap Saturday at the Southridge YMCA.

The event is preluded Friday night when people come in to drop off their used ski equipment. Which is then inspected and possibly taken in for the swap if deemed safe for continued use by the the patrol.

The ability to purchase the variety of ski’s, helmets, snowboards, and other items began at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Member of the Canadian Ski Patrol John Haley says before the doors opened there was upwards of 150 people lined up to have first pick at the equipment they were looking for. As well the rush continued for the opening hour of the event.

Haley says this is a great opportunity for people to come get what they need for themselves, and their families at a more reasonable price than going to a retailer to get it new.

The event is not only meant to be an opportunity to buy these products, but as well support and learn about the Canadian Ski Patrol. All proceeds from the event stay local in The Hat. Helping with the purchase of advanced first-aid equipment like AED’s, spine-boards and oxygen tanks.

the one day swap will be open until 5:00 p.m., but Haley advises everyone who intends to come to get there quickly so they have the best chance at getting what they are looking for.
