Goaltender Beckett Langkow in practice Thursday

Pregame: Rebels at Tigers

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers are back at Co-op Place on Friday kicking off a five-game home stand.

The string of games begins with a matchup against the 8-0-0 Red Deer Rebels who currently sit second in the Eastern Conference, only two points behind the Winnipeg Ice.

This is the first game between the two squads and comes on the heels of the U.S. swing where the Tigers went 2-2-1.

The Rebels last played on Wednesday and they came out on top 5-2 over the Calgary Hitmen.

Red Deer’s success has been led by their goaltender Kyle Kelsey, who currently has a .940 save percentage, good enough to land him fourth in the league in that stat category.

Tigers starting goaltender Beckett Langkow currently has an .871 save per centage, and will need a strong performance tonight level up to the goaltender across from him.

Working in the Tigers’ favour is their offensive ability where they currently sit top five in the league in goals for. That will be tested tonight against a Red Deer squad that is tied for the fewest goals against this season.

Overall with the Tabbies’ ability to score goals, and the Rebels’ ability to shut down the teams they face it should be an interesting Friday night matchup between the two Eastern Conference teams.

If attending the game make sure to bring a non-perishable food item to the Wild 94.5 booth setup at the game for the food drive.

If not able to attend you can hear all the action on Wild with the voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
