Data flow issue cancels Alberta’s weekly COVID-19 update

Oct 5, 2022 | 4:22 PM

Albertans will have to wait another seven days before learning the details of COVID-19’s spread in the province.

Posting on Twitter, chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says a data flow problem is preventing data from being updated this week.

She says the COVID team is working hard to fix this problem and anticipates it will be resolved by next week. This week’s data will be included in next week’s online reporting.

In the last weekly update, 33 new cases were identified in Medicine Hat between Sept. 21-27, up from 25 in the previous period.

During the same period, there were 1,416 cases confirmed province-wide, an increase from 1,194 in the previous week, and there were 33 COVID deaths. At the time, the province reported 980 COVID inpatients in Alberta hospitals, 39 of them are in ICU.

The next update is expected on Oct. 12.
