MEDICINE HAT, AB – In order to further assist and promote people to be more mindful of their mental health, the Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting a Mental Health fair today.

The fair will be filled with different organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Group, the Pride Association and the Women’s Shelter.

Throughout the day there will be different workshops taking place. Each one will be focusing on different kinds of mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, managing eating disorders and youth mental health.

Adult and community librarian Miranda Leduc highlighted the importance of having a fair like this in the community.

“A lot of people don’t know we have these resources in the community that they can access, and they may be suffering with their mental health. So this is really an opportunity for people to access these resources in their community, and get better.”

The event started at 10:30 a.m. with art therapy, and will have their final workshop at 3:00 p.m.
