Stamp commemorates 50th anniversary of the Summit Series

This month marks 50 years since the most famous hockey showdown in Canadian history – the Summit Series against the Soviet Union.
Canada Post has released a new stamp celebrating that anniversary.
The stamp features Canadian legend Phil Esposito facing off against a Soviet player back in 1972. The stamp was illustrated by a Toronto artist named Gary Alphonso.
It was designed to look like the kind of retro television millions of Canadians gathered around to watch as Canada won the nail-biting eight-game series.
