Frost advisory issued for Medicine Hat region, most of Alberta

Sep 20, 2022 | 4:36 PM

It’s still technically summer but frost advisories are covering most of Alberta on Wednesday.

Environment Canada says clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to drop to below zero in most regions. Patchy to widespread frost is expected Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. People in frost-prone areas should be aware of potential frost damage to some crops.

The weather agency issued an advisory for the Medicine Hat-Bow Island-Suffield area just before 3:30 p.m. Frost advisories are also in place for Cypress Hills Provincial Park-Foremost and Brooks-Strathmore-Vulcan areas.

People are encouraged to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
