Medicine Hat, AB–The Medicine Hat Tigers have signed defenceman Blake Ekren-Bratton to a standard WHL player agreement.

Ekren-Bratton is from Porcupine Plain, Saskachewan and was selected by the Tigers in the 3rd round, 61st overall in the 2020 WHL prospects draft.

He played in 27 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors U18 AAA last season where he scored three goals and 17 points.

Ekren-Bratton also suited up in three playoff games for the Warriors, but didn’t register a point.

“Blake is a big, hard defender that likes to play physical,” said Tigers Associate Coach Joe Frazer. “He also possesses a heavy shot and a great first pass.”

After a 7-3 loss and 5-4 victory in a pair of games against Lethbridge, the Tigers will finish up the preseason with a home-and-home with the Swift Current Broncos.

Medicine Hat will be in Swift Current on Sept. 16 before returning home to Co-op Place on Sept. 17.

Puck drop for Saturday’s home game will go at 7 p.m.
