MEDICINE HAT, AB – A miniseries filmed in our city last summer should be released on Amazon Prime Canada late next week and other streaming services not long after.

Medicine Hat’s Chrystal Snow is co-creator, co-producer and one of the stars of Angel Dust.

Also the owner of Break the Chain Productions, Snow describes Angel Dust as a supernatural drama in which a guardian angel must help an aspiring actress cut the bad influences from her life and find the path she is destined to travel.

It’s been recognized as an official selection by film festivals in Toronto, London and Cannes. It also won a best acting trophy from the London International Monthly Film Festival.

Filming took place around Medicine Hat in the river valley, downtown, Echo Dale Regional Park and elsewhere in the city. Many locals took part as extras and background characters.

Snow wants to continue filming the show here.

“We plan to do season one here in Medicine Hat and depending on the budget it’ll hopefully be this spring,” she says. “We’re at about a million-dollar budget right now. I’d like to see it be three million dollars … we did it on a small budget the miniseries just to get it out there but with season one we want to make sure that we’re getting eight full episodes at 48 minutes each.”

Snow wants to do a red carpet premiere here in November and plans to bring series star Daniel Baldwin for that. She’s looking for sponsors for that as well as drumming up money for season one.
