Edmonton police officer charged with breach of trust

Edmonton police say an officer who was been with the force for 19 years has been charged with one count of breach of trust.

Police charge against Staff Sgt. Craig Mathewson the charge relates to the content of a report that was submitted after an arrest in December 2021.

They did not elaborate on the alleged offence.

Police say Mathewson is to remain in an administrative role pending the resolution of the case before the courts.
