Water line break prompts water restrictions in Grassy Lake

Sep 6, 2022 | 2:33 PM

GRASSY LAKE, AB – Residents in a southern Alberta hamlet will have to restrict all non-essential water use for the time being.

The Municipal District of Taber says in a social media post that there has been a “significant” water line break in the Town of Bow Island.

Because of this, the Highway 3 Regional Water Services Commission is immediately restricting all non-essential water use in Grassy Lake and the surrounding area.

“Please use as little water as possible including no watering of lawns, taking shorter showers, and postponing non-essential laundry and dishwashing,” reads a post by the M.D. of Taber.

The Grassy Lake water truck fill station will also be closed until further notice.

The M.D. of Taber says crews are on site in Bow Island attempting to resolve the matter as quickly as possible and restore water services.
