Carry Drive road work moving, trail repairs happening near teepee

Aug 19, 2022 | 11:28 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Road work on Carry Drive is moving down the block today and repairs on the Saamis Archaeological Trail will begin next week, the city says.

Road rehabilitation on Carry Drive is now taking place between the intersections at Carter Crescent and Ross Glen Drive. Traffic will detour on Southview Drive and Cameron Road to navigate around the active construction area.

You can keep up with the progress of the project at medicinehat.ca/carrydrive.

Elsewhere, portions of the Saamis Archaeological Trail and two bridges in the area will be closed from Aug. 22 to Sept. 30 for trail repairs.

A new section of trail will be built, replacing a section which is currently closed. The two bridges will also be reinforced to facilitate the necessary maintenance activity on the trail.

Access to the trail from the Kin Coulee Tunnel and Southwest Drive will be closed during the repairs. Residents are asked to observe and follow construction signs in the area.

At both work sites, people are reminded to obey all posted signs and detours and the city thanks residents for their patience during the work.
