RASC team wins Alberta title

U15 boys soccer team golden

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The U15 Rattlers Academy Soccer Club from Medicine Hat are provincial champions.

They won the gold medal with a 4-2 victory over EMFC Calgary, capping an unbeaten weekend.

The Medicine Hat RASC Boys also beat the Edmonton 1 team, Edmonton Southwest Sting as well as Red Deer Renegades and Calgary 2 team-New Frontier SC at the Alberta Soccer Association provincial championships held in Lethbridge.

The team is coached by Damir Omerovic who said in a release “what a great year it has been working with this group of young men. I’ve been coaching some of these boys only for a year, some for two and others for an eternity and I’m super proud of all of them and to see where they are today.”

“Our Medicine Hat club can compete with any club in the province which is exciting to see. I’m excited for what comes next. For our boys. And for our RASC Academy,” Omerovic added.

Also, representing Medicine Hat in ASA Provincials Tier 2 was the RASC U13 Girls and RASC U13 Boys

Also this weekend, two U17 RASC girls, goaltender Keyarah Tofin and attacking mid/striker Ivy Hozack, were invited to join Lethbridge U17 Tier 2.

The team won silver, falling 1-0 to Sherwood Park Phoenix in the final.
