Plant ID Walks in Police Point Park
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Plant experts from the MH Interpretive Program will lead a pair of Plant ID Walks through Police Point Park on Saturday.
The recent rain has the park looking lush and green, say organizers, providing the perfect opportunity for local plant experts from Grassland Naturalists to help teach about the variety of plant species found all over the park. Participants will learn about everything from chokecherries to goldenrods and the large biodiversity of trees, shrubs and flowers in Medicine Hat.
The first walk goes from 9:30-11 a.m. and the second from 12-1:30 p.m. The walks are about one kilometre in length.
Anyone interested can call the Nature Line at 403-529-6225 for more information. Anyone unable to attend a full walk can stop by a drop-in information booth.
