MEDICINE HAT, AB – There is just one more sleep until the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede officially returns.

Summer Jam, which sets the stage for the big event, was held Monday and Tuesday the grounds were a hub of activity to get everything ready.

West Coast Amusements was busy setting up the midway including the classic Ferris Wheel, the Scrambler and the Hurricane.

Kiddieland will also be returning with magical rides just for the little ones.

Tents were going up for the beer gardens and food vendors were preparing to serve up some fair favourite foods.

Friday is Kiddies Day hosted by Methanex. There will be hot dogs, popsicles, face painting, a bouncy castle and more set up in Pioneer Village.

The Country in the City exhibit is back. The exhibit was initiated to provide a connection between the urban and rural communities by having informative, educational and interactive displays on topics related to agriculture, energy, recycling, and living in the country.

There is also free stage entertainment, the Stampede Trade Show and rodeo.

The night shows kick off Wednesday evening with Trace Adkins. Medicine Hat’s own MacKenzie Porter takes to the stage on Thursday followed by the Beach Boys on Saturday.

The parade is scheduled for Thursday.
