MEDICINE HAT, AB – Gas prices in Medicine Hat continue to decline.

According to gasbuddy.com, motorists can fill their ride for as little as $1.48.9 per litre on Tuesday.

That’s the price shown for Costco, where membership is needed to fuel up. Prices at other gas stations such as Co-op, Shell and Safeway are reportedly at $1.63.9. Some stations are shown to be selling as high as $1.73.9.

Prices were above $1.90.9 at times earlier this year.

On April 1, when prices were around $1.60.9, the Alberta government suspended its collection of the 13-cent per litre provincial fuel tax. On Friday, Premier Jason Kenney said he is looking into the continued high gas prices, saying it “appeared Albertans are no longer benefiting from the tax cut.”

Kenney said then he would ask the Competition Bureau of Canada to investigate potential gasoline price fixing in Alberta. He also said he directed Service Alberta to explore tools that could be used under Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act.
