First UCP leaders debate to be held in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — There are seven official candidates to become the next leader of the United Conservative party, and all seven will be in Medicine Hat on Wednesday for the first official leadership debate.

It’s being held at the HALO hangar at the Medicine Hat airport, from 5 to 7 pm.

The leadership candidates are:

• Leela Aheer
• Brian Jean
• Todd Loewen
• Rajan Sawhney
• Rebecca Schulz
• Danielle Smith
• Travis Toews

The moderator for the debate will be Jeff Davison, CEO of the Prostate Cancer Centre, and former Calgary City Councillor. The themes are Leadership and Unity, Healthcare, and the Economy and the Environment.
