CP Rail train hauling grains derails in Bassano

MEDICINE HAT, AB – An investigation is underway after a CP Rail train hauling grain derailed in Bassano on Wednesday afternoon.

Dan Seaward posted this video to Facebook. According to a post on social media, Seaward was sitting at the stop sign around 4:19 p.m. when he heard a loud bang.

He looked up to see dust everywhere.

CP Rail says there were no injuries or public safety concerns.

Crews and equipment were dispatched to the area.
