Suspect charged in connection to Lethbridge encampment shooting

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge police have charged a suspect in regards to a shooting that took place at a homeless encampment on July 10 in that city.
Nathan Parker Spearchief, 37, of Lethbridge, has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, discharge a firearm with the intent to endanger life, unauthorized possession of a firearm, use of a firearm while committing an offence, and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.
Spearchief remains in custody while awaiting his initial hearing.
The firearm used in the shooting has yet to be recovered.
