City under heat warning, temperatures could climb to mid 30s
A heat warning is in effect Tuesday morning for Medicine Hat, Cypress County and County of Forty Mile and elsewhere in southern and eastern Alberta.
Environment Canada says starting today temperatures will reach or exceed 32 C, and overnight lows will be warmer than 16 C for the next two days.
Temperatures are forecast to moderate Thursday before climbing back into the 30s this weekend. Highs of 35 C and above are forecast for Friday and Saturday.
Heat warnings are issued when very high-temperature conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
