Construction to resume on West Boundary Road

Jun 16, 2022 | 11:35 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The final phase of a road construction project that stretches back six will begin next week.

The City of Medicine Hat will resume road construction on West Boundary Road NW, north of the Trans-Canada Highway to Box Springs Boulevard NW, during the week of June 20.

This project is the final phase of West Boundary Road NW upgrades that began in 2017 as part of the City’s ongoing program to address failing infrastructure.

Work will be completed in stages and is expected to conclude in early July 2022, weather dependent.

Detours will direct traffic around the work area to allow Box Springs Boulevard NW to remain open. Speed limits will be reduced in the construction zone for the safety of workers and motorists.

During stage 1, the access from Highway 1 will be closed for approximately two weeks and westbound traffic on Box Springs Boulevard NW will not be able to turn south on to West Boundary Road NW.

Access to all businesses will be maintained during construction.

Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and detours and watch for further updates as the project progresses.

The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding while we undertake this important infrastructure improvement project.
