MEDICINE HAT, AB – Cirque du Soleil is back in Medicine Hat. Tonight is the Medicine Hat premiere of the world-famous company’s OVO at Co-op Place. There are a total of six shows until Sunday.

We went behind the scenes during rehearsal today and spoke with Wellington Lima, who will spend a lot of time in the air over the next five days.

Like any Cirque show, OVO features extraordinary showmanship, show-stopping acrobatics and sights that nearly defy imagination.

Janie Mallet, senior publicist and part of tour management, says the show is an immersive experience for the senses that works well for families.

“Because it’s an inventive language, because it’s so colourful, and there’s clowns so there’s comical moments it really works well with kids. We’ve got young kids that come to the show, they’re two and three and they’re mesmerized by what’s happening, ” she says. “We’ve got grandparents coming so I think there’s something for everyone in the family to really have a good time.”
