Dog rescued after falling in Lethbridge coulees
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services Technical Rescue Team was called out to the coulees just after 12:25 p.m. on May 28 to help rescue a dog that had fallen off an embarkment, as well as a bystander who had tried to help.
Warren Nelson with Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services says the bystander became stuck trying to help the dog to safety.
“A bystander had gotten down to the dog, but once he got there it was unsafe for him to try and get out of there,” said Nelson. “Our rescue team came and got the dog and the bystander off the cliff face.”
According to Nelson, situations like this are not very frequent.
