Blood Tribe Police seeking suspect in attempted kidnapping

STANDOFF, AB – A suspect is being sought in connection to an attempted kidnapping and assault on the Blood Tribe First Nation.

The Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) says, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, a man attempted to lure a woman into his vehicle near the Cardston Hospital.

The man allegedly followed the woman into the community of Moses Lake. BTPS reports that he proceeded to assault her and tried to drag her into his vehicle.

Police say the woman was able to get away and sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a bald Caucasian man, approximately 40 years old with a muscular build and tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a grey tank top at the time of the incident.

Police say he was driving a newer model Chevrolet Impala coloured “candy apple red.” The image below is not of the suspect vehicle, but is a stock image provided by BTPS of a similar vehicle model and colour.
