Hope for Nature ongoing at Police Point Park

May 19, 2022 | 10:36 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is putting wings on the city’s Project Hope initiative.

Project Hope began with the city asking students at River Heights Elementary School to reflect on and answer questions about topics like kindness, safety, love and hope. The aim was to inspire people to have conversations and take actions that perpetuate hope in our city. The project has grown with different community organizations doing their own spin on it.

With Hope for Nature, the Interpretive Program is encouraging the community to share their own positive messages of hope by painting a wooden butterfly at the Nature Centre. The butterflies will then be displayed these butterflies in the park.

Butterflies can be painted from now until June 15, free of charge and on a drop-in basis.

Shape Safari

From May 21-28, a Shape Safari event will take place. People are invited to explore Police Point Park while searching for the next activity, all of which will be posted on storyboards throughout the park. There’s a secret message to be found after all the activities are completed.

For more information on these or other events visit natureline.info, find Police Point Park on social media (@policepointpark) or call the Nature Line at 403-529-6225.
