Gala to support mental health programs

Winter in May with the Snowflake Soiree

MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s happening in a different season but the spirit behind it remains the same.

Typically held in the winter, the annual Snowflake Soiree was postponed this year due to COVID and instead takes place May 14 downtown at the Beveridge building.

“So it’s going to be a really fun night we’ve got a lovely plated dinner that will be served to everyone, we’re going to have entertainment, duelling pianos, so that should be a lot of fun,” says Shelby MacPhail, the local CMHA’s KIT program and events and marketing coordinator. “We’ll have a silent auction, a live auction, our mystery door which is always a lot of fun so there’s lots in store for that night.”

The annual is the local Canadian Mental Health Association’s biggest fundraising event.

MacPhail says all proceeds from the gala will support mental health programs and services in the community.

“Coming out of the last two years everyone kind of recognizes there a huge need for mental health supports in our community,” she says. “So if you can be there and support in a small way by attending there will be a lot of different fundraising opportunities throughout he night so we really appreciate support in that way.”

Tickets are available at the CMHA ASER website.
