City updates interactive project map for construction season

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Hatters will be able to stay up to date on construction projects in the city with the relaunch of the City of Medicine Hat’s interactive project map ahead of the 2022 construction season.

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map helps identify major infrastructure ventures planned for the city this year

“We designed this map with residents in mind,” Nigel Forster, GIS Specialist Nigel Forster explains in a news release. “Our staff have been working behind the scenes to present this updated information to the community and we’re pleased to provide a snapshot of the projects that are planned for the upcoming year.”

The interactive project map includes major construction projects taking place in parks, with utilities and on roadways over the next several months. Residents can use the map to see important infrastructure upgrades and learn more about each one. Each project on the map includes a description, an expected start and end date, and information about the project cost.

The city says the map is complemented by the Construction and Closures map that may include additional closures related to other construction or events occurring in the community.
