Hilda district fire quickly put out

A downed power line in the Hilda district caused a small grass fire on Thursday afternoon.

Cypress County says Hilda and Schuler units supported those from Dunmore and the fire was extinguished quickly.

There was no word on the cause of the fire.

Cypress County issued a fire control order and cancelled all fire permits on March 30 due to warm, dry and windy conditions along with cured vegetation

A fire restriction is the lowest level of advisories under the county fire control system.
