City taking applications for development incentive programs

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Applications are now being accepted for three of the City of Medicine Hat’s 2022 development incentives.

In a news release, the city says it wants to encourage development and redevelopment in the community and incentives are an effective way to stimulate investment, create jobs, and support targeted economic growth that would not have otherwise occurred.

“We are pleased to offer the development incentive program for a second year,” says Eric Van Enk, managing director, Invest Medicine Hat. “The community’s response to the program in 2021 was overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to continuing to support our local business and the development community.”

The 2022 development incentives now open include Waterfront District Housing Incentive, Waterfront District Vibrancy Incentive and Infill Incentive

Last year the development incentive program supported local businesses such as ACE Hardware, Local Public Eatery and Moose and Squirrel Artisan Village.
