MEDICINE HAT, AB – The workers have left the site and the fences are down but the city isn’t ready to make an official opening announcement on the Towne Square project just yet.

The city says they’ve already received a lot of interest from community groups wanting to reserve space or host events.

City officials say that when it is open Towne Square will contribute to community vibrancy and vitality of downtown. They also hope it will be a catalyst to attract residents and tourists to the core and support local shopping within the area.

Details about how the space will look this summer and beyond are coming, says the city in a statement provided to CHAT News.
