Mar 29, 2022 | 12:51 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Premier Jason Kenney and two ministers are visiting our city this week.

Kenney will attend a Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday at the Cypress Centre.

According to this week’s edition of the Chamber’s newsletter, The Voice, the premier will speak about the United Conservative Party’s key priorities from Budget 2022 and what it means for individuals, Alberta’s Recovery Plan and plans for the southeast Alberta region.

Nate Horner, minister of agriculture, forestry and rural economic development, and Jason Copping, minister of health, will be in attendance and provide remarks, as will Brooks-Medicine Hat MLA Michaela Frey.

A question and answer period is also planned for the luncheon. Questions can be submitted in advance here.

The event is open to everyone and is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More information and a link to registration can be found on the Chamber’s website.

The premier’s visit, his first in almost two years, comes at a time when there is a lot of anger within party ranks.

The UCP executive cancelled the leadership review set for April 9 and replaced it with a province-wide mail-in ballot.

The party expects 15,0000 members to vote.
