Second suspect in truck theft, robbery in custody

BROOKS, AB – RCMP say they’ve arrested the second suspect in a motor vehicle theft and robbery outside of Brooks last week.

Travis Seitz, 31, of Cypress County, was found in Duchess, about 15 kilometres north of Brooks.

Seitz has been arrested on his outstanding warrants and is charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited and failing to comply with a probation order.

He remains in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment for his injuries sustained in the collision on March 2.

Cpl. Josh Argue says Brooks RCMP were supported by the South Eastern ALERT, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Emergency Response Team, received multiple tips from the public about potential sightings.

Crystal Bigstone, 29, of Brooks, was arrested March 2 and is charged with robbery and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Brooks RCMP responded to a complaint of a robbery along Highway 1A outside of Brooks on March 2.

Police say someone saw a pickup truck hit the ditch, so that person stopped to check on the people inside. Police say that person was then assaulted by the occupants, who then stole that person’s truck.
