MEDICINE HAT, AB – The city says residents who live in time-restricted parking zones can apply for their new unrestricted parking permit.

The affected areas are in the downtown core and near the Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre and the Moose Recreation Centre.

Current permits for downtown expire at the end of February, while those for the two recreation centres expire at the end of May.

Permits are also needed for residents near the hospital but those don’t expire until September of 2023.

Visit the City of Medicine Hat’s website to apply for a permit or learn more. Applications can be submitted online, or in person at Municipal Works at 188 Kipling St. SE Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. -4:30 p.m., and Fridays 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m.-3:45 p.m.

You are required to have a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration for each vehicle permit. Additional documentation requirements can be viewed on the website. Permits are only issued for vehicles that are registered to eligible addresses within the hospital, downtown or Moose/Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre areas. Each residence is permitted one visitor permit.
