Tunnel trail under highway at Kin Coulee Park temporarily closed

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The tunnel under the Trans-Canada Highway connecting Kin Coulee Park to the environmental reserve near the Saamis Tepee is closed at least through the weekend.

The city says there is flooding and ice build-up and crews will assess it early next week.

Flooding is a common problem at the tunnel and the city says staff have identified an engineering solution that will be finished this year to mitigate future flooding.

Meanwhile, residents can still access the environmental reserve from the teepee site.
