Friday deadline to recycle natural Christmas trees at city depots

MEDICINE HAT, AB – If your real tree is still bringing Christmas spirit to your home you should know the time to recycle it at one of the city’s depots is running short.

Friday, Jan. 28 is the last day to drop off your tree at either Northlands Co-op parking lot, Kipling Street or the Medicine Hat Mall parking lot recycling depots.

People recycling a tree are asked to remove all lights and decorations and any other foreign materials. Only the natural tree is to be dropped off for recycling.

The recycled trees are chipped up and used for compost.

Residents can also take real trees out to the composting facility at the landfill during regular operating hours.
