Two locals charged after vehicle stolen in Swift Current
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Two city residents have been charged after a vehicle stolen in Swift Current was tracked to Medicine Hat using GPS.
According to Medicine Hat police, they were informed about the stolen vehicle on Jan. 22 by Swift Current RCMP, who advised the vehicle’s owner tracked it to Medicine Hat.
City police say when the vehicle was located parked in a private driveway the occupants failed to comply with police instructions. The male driver drove away and stopped in a yard, say police and the two people in the vehicle ran. Both were taken into custody a short time later with the help of the K9 unit.
The male and female occupants of the vehicle, both 26, are charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, resisting arrest and flight from police. The male driver is also charged with breach of probation.
