MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat Transit operations will continue as scheduled for now but officials want people to be prepared for possible “short-notice service adjustments.”

Riders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the City of Medicine Hat website and follow the city’s social media channels to ensure their rides a disrupted as little as possible.

Real-time information can be found on DoubleMap. Future service changes will be posted on the city website and on social media. The city also encourages people to subscribe to city news to receive information as it is shared.

Medicine Hat Transit is monitoring service levels daily to ensure business continuity with the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.

“Our priority is keeping our staff and passengers safe,” said Gordon Dykstra, superintendent of operations with Medicine Hat Transit. “If our drivers are sick, or are showing any symptoms, we ask they stay home until they’ve fully recovered. We are continuing to monitor our operations and are prepared to adjust service accordingly if necessary.”

Masks are mandatory on Medicine Hat Transit and riders are asked to practice physical distancing while onboard.
