Police evacuate Park Place Mall in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Park Place Mall in Lethbridge has been evacuated by the Lethbridge Police Service.

The LPS stated that at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26 there was an altercation between several individuals at the shopping centre. During the encounter, police say one of the individuals involved discharged “what appeared to be bear spray”.

As a result, the mall has been evacuated for the safety of shoppers and staff members.

The safety of our shoppers, tenants, and employees is of utmost importance. Due to an emergency situation, we have been directed to evacuate the Shopping Centre. We don't have any further information at this time and are unsure if we will be able to reopen today.
