Lethbridge police responding to report of a threat at Winston Churchill High School

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Winston Churchill High School has been closed for the day.

Lethbridge police are currently on scene at the northside school in response to a report of a threat received by the school earlier this morning, Dec. 14.

As a precautionary measure, the Lethbridge School Division has closed the school and sent students home for the day.

The division posted the following notice on social media.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say no further information will be released at this time.

Later in the day, the School Division announced that Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) was being evacuated as a precautionary measure. It’s unclear if this and the Churchill event are connected.
