No courtyard lights at Park Meadows due to safety concerns

MEDICINE HAT, AB – As Christmas nears, more decorations are popping up around the city.

But once again, Park Meadows Estates won’t be lighting up their courtyard this year.

The popular Medicine Hat Christmas tradition goes back more than 20 years. This year due to safety concerns related to COVID-19, the courtyard will stay dim like last year.

Russ Holowachuk with Park Meadows Estates is disappointed it won’t happen.

“We don’t want the public to come through not knowing what the COVID will do. Just for the safety of residents and everybody else,” Holowachuk said.

Many residents in Park Meadows Estates are decorating their homes and Hatters are welcome to drive through the community to see them.
