Brooks man faces charges after pair of robberies

BROOKS, AB – A Brooks man is facing charges in a pair of robberies in the southern Alberta city.

RCMP say 42-year-old Marcel Leydier of Brooks is accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of intent to commit an indictable offence have his face masked or otherwise disguised.

Police say Leydier was charged after a number of tips led to a search warrant being executed at a Brooks home on Nov. 24.

The charges stem from a pair of robberies at stores in Brooks on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.

Leydier is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police say Leydier was released on conditions and is next scheduled to appear on Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. in Brooks Provincial Court.
