Residents dealing with tire slashings in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Southeast Hill area was the location of a number of tire slashings sometime overnight in Medicine Hat.

According to residents, at least nine vehicles were vandalized on 11th Street SE. and Cambridge Street SE.

There were also social media posts of damage on Belfast Street SE. and Aberdeen Street SE.

Residents say police canvassed the neighbourhood today, looking for security cam footage.

At least two vehicles had a pair of tires slashed on each.

One of the victims told CHAT News the slashings appeared random.

“This morning the police came around 8 o’clock saying the tires had been slashed out front (of our home) to one of our vehicles. Both the tires were slashed, and.. three (vehicles) across the street as well (had tires slashed),” said Natasha McDonald, whose home is on Cambridge Street SE.

There are also social media posts about possible tire slashings in Redcliff overnight.

Police have yet to comment on the crimes.
