Two Lethbridge men charged after traffic stop turns up drugs and firearm
LETHBRIDGE, AB. – An early morning traffic stop on Nov. 3 resulted in the seizure of drugs and a firearm and charges against two Lethbridge men. LPS officers stopped a vehicle in the 4000 block of Fourth Avenue South just before 2 a.m. and seized a rifle, a replica airsoft pistol, bear spray and a small quantity of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
One of the vehicle occupants provided police with a false name but, a check of the information found he was wanted on a Canada-wide parole warrant as well as a firearms prohibition.
Justin Yuhas, age 32, faces two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm; careless use/storage of a firearm; knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm; carrying a concealed weapon; knowingly possessing a prohibited/restricted weapon; and two counts of possession of a controlled substance; and obstructing a peace officer.
Yuhas is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
