MEDICINE HAT, AB – A fundraising walk aimed at supporting seniors is coming to the Hat on Saturday, September 18.

Hosted by the Veiner Centre, The Grand Parade is a cross-Canada event where people of all ages walk to benefit seniors.

This is the first time The Grand Parade will be held in Medicine Hat and it will take place on the river-side paths by the Veiner Centre.

Participants can choose between walking one and five kilometers and it’s free to join, but Veiner Centre CEO Larry Mathieson encourages people to collect pledges.

Mathieson fully took over running the Veiner Centre this month and is excited about bringing this event to Medicine Hat.

“This is a good chance for us to have a meet and greet and to meet some of the people and we already know that the mayor and some of the council members have confirmed their attendance,” Mathieson said.

There will also be a free BBQ after the event. Sign up information can be found here.
