MEDICINE HAT, AB – Seeing rising COVID cases rising in Medicine Hat as students returned to class, officials from the city and Medicine Hat College looking for ways to encourage vaccinations.

The vaccination rate for the city is below the provincial rate.

The college and city partnered to bring in a mobile vaccination clinic this week. The scene at MHC on Friday afternoon suggests the city and college’s plan will be a success.

“I think it’s a really good idea and I was planning to set my appointment up to get a shot but like there was complications I couldn’t get in for a while so this is really useful for me,” said Zoe Bolger.

Randy Hermanson, who like Bolger was getting a second dose, said the easy accessibility of the clinic was a plus.

“I think it’s great. You don’t have to go out to the drug store and stuff like that you can just get it right here,” he said.

The mobile vaccine clinic will be at the Family Leisure Centre Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for drop-in vaccinations.
