Two charged with firearms and drug offences

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Two men were arrested and have been charged following an investigation by the Medicine Hat ALERT Unit.

According to police, a large sum of money, drugs and prohibited firearms were seized during two different searches beginning on Sept. 2. Police seized 36 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), 121 grams of cocaine, two grams of methamphetamine and two litres of liquid GHB (commonly known as date rape drug), as well as a sawed off 12-gauge Remington shotgun, a sawed off Winchester shotgun and shotgun rounds.

The street value of the drugs seized is about $18,500, in addition to about $12,000 in cash.

Luc Reaume, 40, and Daryl Stefani, 36, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and GHB, possession of methamphetamine and psilocybin, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and firearms offences.

Both had a bail hearing and were released by a justice of the peace for future court appearances in Medicine Hat.
