MEDICINE HAT, AB – Youth sports and activity groups are eager to ramp up again.

Tomorrow, groups will gather tomorrow at the Medicine Hat Mall to show Hatters just how many options there are to get physical and have fun this fall.

“We have about 10-15 different groups that will be there and they will be able to answer questions and hand out information as well as take registrations if that`s what parents are interested in,” says organizer Jerredi Hauck.

Many groups saw declines in membership over the past year due to the pandemic and other related reasons.

Hauck, the owner of LimeLitez Dance Academy, sees this as a way for them to reconnect with local families.

“I can imagine that pretty much all of the different youth sports and activity groups have seen a large drop in membership and I’m hoping that getting people out getting people excited for the fall activities will bring a boost to all the different clubs and community activities that we have,” she says. “We have some really fabulous and wonderful programs in our city we’re so lucky to have them but it would be great with more support for everybody.”

Many of the groups are for kids but some offer also programs for adults.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow in the unit near the Old Navy entrance across the parking lot from Best Buy.
