Police Point Park will be hopping on Sunday

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Hop down to Police Point Park on Sunday to learn about grasshoppers.

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is hosting Hoppin’ with (grass) Hoppers at 11 a.m. at the Nature Centre.

People are invited to “catch, look, hopefully ID, then release, these bouncy creatures back into their environment,” say organizers.

They say trying to catch grasshoppers is the fun part and seeing the differences between the species and recognizing their importance to the local ecosystem makes them a little less creepy.

Containers will be available for observations.
