MEDICINE HAT, AB – The fastest game on ice is hosting a free Come Try It event this Saturday, August 28.

For anyone interested in learning more about ringette, the local association will be at the Family Leisure Centre 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Anyone can come learn more about the sport and sign up.

Registration is open now until Sept. 1 and boys and girls ages 4 and old can sign up.

Elisha Ammann with the Medicine Hat Ringette Association says most people like the friendship aspect of the sport the best and if you’re worried about your skating skills, she says that’s not a problem.

“If your child doesn’t know how to skate or not very well, don’t worry about it at all,” Ammann said. “We find especially younger kids pick up skating really quickly. We have professional coaches that come in and help with skating.”

Registration starts at $150, but subsidies are available and goalies play free. Also on Saturday, used equipment is available for new players.
